· Students will learn to draw favorite animals, people, and objects using different mediums.

· More advanced students will draw from three dimensional objects, illustrations, portraits, etc.

· Introduced to a new subject matter and exercises each week.

· Exposed to art history and styles such as realism, abstract, impressionism, classical, fauvism, etc.

· Instructed in color theory, perspective and composition.

· Classical music is played during class.

Chameleon







In this lesson I will read "Chameleons are Cool" a beautifully illustrated book and then we will draw and color a Chameleon.

Baby Hare




In this lesson we will learn about the German artist Albrecht Durer (1471-1528) and look at his wonderful drawing and paintings of animals, especially his famous Hares.
We will then draw a hare and color it. The above drawing are done by students age 6 to 9.

The Dot

In this lesson I will read "The Dot" and then the students inspired by the story will start an abstract design from one simple dot. Then they will fill in the spaces with different designs. Student always have fun doing abstracts. It's amazing how many things they find inside their drawings.
